Club Match Report
Sunday 18th April 2004
The second match of
the series was contested on April 18th at Saltfleetby
Fisheries.
Twenty members
turned out and braved the elements on what turned out to be
a very wet windy day. Continuing his winning streak was
Jason Adlam (peg 25) who had a net of bream on the pole for
15lb 4oz, and maximum points for the second club match in a
row. Battling it out for second place was Trev Pidcock (peg
11) and Barry Brown (peg 7) who were both catching small
carp on the pole, and seemed to be matching each other fish
for fish, but the scales proved Barry had more fish with a
weight of 12lb 4oz to Trevs’ 10lb 4oz, for second and third
place respectively. Dave Ross (peg 5) is proving to be
consistent, finishing with 7lb of feeder fished carp for
fourth spot again; maybe the pressure of drawing the golden
peg was too much for Dave!
Ian Leggett (peg
17) had a few carp for 4lb 8oz, and Len Lovesey (peg 3) was
ruing losing at least three bream on the pole, finishing
sixth for the second week running with 4lb 4oz. All
competitors battled well, and stuck it out to the end under
pretty adverse conditions for the time of year!
As the weather
seems to be getting warmer, the pole seems to be overtaking
the feeder as the best method on this lake at the complex.
Thirteen members
troubled the scales, although eighteen competitors caught.
Competitors are reminded it’s in your best interests to
weigh in anything you catch, as any points you get go toward
the final total, where there is a cup for first, second, and
third places. Only your top fifteen recorded results from
twenty, will count toward your final points totals, so
please remember to weigh in.
Next club match is
on May 2nd again on the Island Pond. Draw 8am, fish
9am-2pm.
