Club Match Report
Sunday 1st August 2004
Sunday August 1st
was round 15 of the Saltfleetby Fisheries Club matches, in
the island pond. Again this was quite poorly attended by
“members”. If attendances to these club matches do not
improve by members for the remaining last five matches, then
the membership will be reviewed for the ’05 season. There
were a few guests fishing which boosted numbers to fifteen
pegs, and for the last five matches there should be a few
spare pegs. For those that want an invite to “guest” in a
friendly match with a good atmosphere then give Chris a ring
at the fishery for details.
Four anglers thought
they may have done enough to stop the “Trevor Express”. Dave
Spence on peg 18 had a good few carp in the latter part of
the match (on “orange meat”!) to end up with 20lb 2oz. Rich
West had a few more fish, mainly carp and a couple of bream
on peg 22 and finished with 21lb 10oz. Jason Adlam did
better again with an all carp bag for 24lb 10oz from peg 20.
But in the end they were all left wanting when Trevor was
last to the scales with 33lb 10oz of carp and bream. Trevor
fished his paste on peg 25 for win number 8. Jason and
Trevor were matched all match virtually fish for fish, but
Trevor’s were of a better stamp, and the “express” keeps
rolling! Elsewhere regular guest Ian Linnet drew the in form
peg 17, which was also golden peg, but the pressure was too
much and he could only manage 17lb 12oz and a headache!
Floating pole specialist Chris Johnson had 8lb from peg 10
on his favoured method, but was left cursing the lack of
breeze and sun for most of the match. Dave Ross couldn’t
repeat his winning performance of last week, but showed the
importance of weighing in when he took one solitary roach to
the scales for 2oz and 20 pts from a possible 30.
Next club match is on
August 6th, on the main pond. Draw 4-00pm, fish 4-30pm-9pm. |
