Club Match Report
Sunday 30th May 2004
Round six of the Saltfleetby Fisheries Club series on Sunday
3oth was in the main pond. After a period of warm settled
weather, it was drizzly and breezy for the anglers.
Some anglers are finding it hard coming to grips with the
“revamped” pond, as it is now a lot deeper than it was
before. Fish are coming to those who make the best of their
pegs though, and making the pest this week was Rich West
(peg 7), who had just over thirty pound for fist place. Rich
pushed Chris Johnson (peg 4) into second place, with a last
minute carp of 8lb. Chris had to settle with second place
with 26lb 10oz. On his “hat-trick” was Trevor Pidcock (peg
14), who was left third after returning 25lb 10oz. Dave Ross
(peg 17) was fourth for the fourth time in 6 matches with
19lb 10oz. Dave also had a bonus big fish right near the end
in the form of a 6lb carp, this pushed Jason Adlam (peg 1)
into fifth, who bought 14lb 4oz to the scales. Fishery owner
Chris, witnessed Jason hook, and play a carp for well over
30 minutes, only for the hook length to break as the fish
was being bought to the net. The estimated weight of that
one fish would have doubled his final weight! Neil Brown had
plenty of small fish for 9lb 4oz and sixth spot.
Next
club match is on June 6th, again on the main
pond. Draw 8am, fish 9am-2pm. |
